Information the extension retains

The extension retains the preferences you set. These comprise the leagues you follow, the teams you have marked as favorites, your sensitivity, cooldown and switch delay settings, your Standby Stream threshold, and the manner in which the score is composed. Your browser holds these preferences as it holds your bookmarks, and may accordingly make them available to you on any other computer at which you are signed in to the same browser profile.

All other information belongs to the browsing session in which it arises and is discarded when that session ends. This comprises the tabs you have assigned to particular games, the tab you have designated as your Standby Stream, any manual adjustment you have applied to a game, and the recent scoring history from which the charts are drawn.

The extension does not retain your name, your address, an account, a contact detail or any other particular by which you may be identified. No such particular is requested of you at any point.

Information the extension transmits

The extension communicates with two hosts, both of them operated by ESPN, and it is capable of reaching no others:

  • site.api.espn.com, for scores, schedules, game clocks, odds and win probabilities.
  • a.espncdn.com, for team crests and league marks.

These are ordinary requests for information that ESPN publishes openly. ESPN therefore receives your network address and a record of the league scoreboards requested, precisely as it would were you to visit its website yourself. The extension attaches to those requests no identifier, no account and no personal information whatever. Where you disable a league in Settings, the extension ceases to request that league at all.

Browser permissions

The extension requests three permissions of your browser, and each is exercised only for the purpose stated:

  • Tabs. To present the tabs you have open, so that you may assign games to them, and to switch, mute and unmute those tabs. This permission conveys the list of tabs and nothing further. No part of the extension runs within the pages you visit.
  • Storage. To retain the preferences described above.
  • Notifications. To inform you that a switch has occurred. Your browser composes and displays each notification, and nothing leaves your computer in the process.

This website

This website sets no cookies, employs no analytics and carries no tracking of any description, and requests your consent to nothing because there is nothing to consent to. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, and GitHub records requests made to its servers in the ordinary course of providing that hosting. The typefaces are served from this website rather than from any third party.

Two features of this website do communicate with ESPN from your browser. The demonstration screens request team crests from a.espncdn.com, and thePowerScore page scores games in progress and therefore requests live scoreboards for so long as you leave it open.

Children

The extension collects no personal information from any person of any age, and this includes children under the age of thirteen.
